Chanel Royce invites a few classmates to help her place uplifting messages on every locker in the school (K-8). (Chanel is on the far right.)
Chanel Royce's Campaign to Spread Kindness Across Our campus

Chanel is our amazing star student! Want to know why? Let’s go see what she has to say…
What does Chanel have to say about our school?
“I just have to say I think this school is amazing because they put you on your own level so that you are not behind or ahead on any assignments in that class. I think our Jr. High is also a big part of our school because of our new elective classes like yoga! (P.S. Do study skills to get straight A’s!) I also like how the soccer team now has a boys and girls team. The volleyball team is also great because they have good teamwork and flexibility. Our sports teams are all magnificent. Soccer is my favorite sport here so far though. We as a school also do a great job with preventing bullying. Keep up the good work!”
How does Chanel think our school can improve?
“I think that we should give more service for people at our school who can’t afford school supplies, uniforms, and our school lunches. I also think that we should have more spirit days! And for an idea, we should give our Win-Win-Wednesday donation money to JDRF (A charity that is helping to find a cure to type 1 diabetes.) We as a school should also have more school dances and pep-rallies. They are so much fun and it would be even greater if we had more! Again, soccer is my favorite sport here so far, but we should have an after school dance or tumbling class. That is all I have to say about what our school could work on.:)”
So Chanel, I heard that you were the one who put those kind quotes on our lockers. What do you have to say about that?
“I decided on the first week of school to design, print, and hand write these quotes and put them on every Summit Academy Independence locker. I did this because it is a great start of the day to read an amazing, inspirational quote and have it in your head all day! I also did this because quotes always make me happy, so I decided to make these to make others happy as well.
"It took a lot of effort to get the supplies, ink, and extra paper. It took me about three and a half hours to put the notes on every locker. One of my favorite quotes I put on the lockers is
'Be KIND -Be SILLY- Be AWESOME.' This was something I will remember for a long time because I almost saw everyone read their quote and smile. I also feel like everyone liked their quote.:) (Also, I think I was pretty good at keeping it a secret.;)”
That is all she has to say for today.
